The Network and Power lights are on

The Slingbox is properly connected to your network/router and is powered on, but not streaming video.

The Network light is blinking

A blinking network light means that the Slingbox has not received a valid IP address from your router. The Slingbox needs its own IP address (a unique network number provided by your network router) to work within your home network.

Solution: A quick fix is often simply verify that the Slingbox is connected to your router and follow that with a reset of your Slingbox. To reset your Slingbox, press the Reset button on the back of the Slingbox, then wait to see if the light stops blinking. (Note: resetting your Slingbox will erase all settings and restore it to factory condition.)

The Network light is off

The Network light may be off for one of these reasons:

  • The Slingbox is not connected to your network/router.
  • Your router may be powered off.

Solution: Make sure that the Slingbox is physically connected to your router using the supplied Ethernet cable, or using an optional Ethernet wall plug or bridge (such as the SlingLink product). Also make sure that your router is powered on.
