This article will walk you through exporting and importing your Favorites list from SlingPlayer for Windows 1.5 and SlingPlayer for Mac 1.0.4. Why Export your Favorites? You have spent hours and hours setting up the perfect Favorites list on your computer at home. And then you install SlingPlayer on a 2nd computer. And dangit! You want those favorites on that computer, too!
Another good reason for Exporting your favorites is for backup purposes. Its always good to back up your data. Note: These instructions apply to SlingPlayer 1.5 for Windows and SlingPlayer 1.0.X for Mac only. If you have SlingPlayer 2.0 for Windows installed, your favorite lineups are being automatically backed up to your Sling Account.
How to Export your Favorites
Exporting your Favorites is easy. When you export your favorites, you will end up with a small text file that you can save for a backup or email it to yourself at work so you can add your favorites to your SlingPlayer installation there.
- Click once on the =√ to the left of your Favorites
- From the menu that appears, select Export
- Choose a location and save your exported Favorites list
Be sure to remember where you saved the file.
How to Import your Favorites Importing your Favorites is just as easy as exporting them. When you import your favorites, you will need to tell SlingPlayer where that Favorites file is that you exported in the previous steps above.
NOTE: Importing Favorites will delete your current list of favorites and replace them with the ones you are importing. Be careful that you don't lose important data. - Click once on the =√ to the left of your Favorites
- From the menu that appears, select Import
- Locate your exported Favorites list and click the Import button
And that is it. All your Favorites will show up in your Favorites bar. |
