New
beta or
release candidate versions of Windows software maybe the latest coolness out there, unfortunately, that sometimes means currently available products may not yet work with them. Using the
beta or
release candidate versions of some Microsoft software will lead to unexpected behavior when using them with your Sling Media product.
Beta or release candidate versions of Internet Explorer 8We are aware that when using the Setup Assistant in Sling Player for Windows 2.0, you might encounter unexpected behavior if any beta or release candidate version of Internet Explorer 8 is installed. There currently is no consistent workaround, so you may be unable to successfully configure your Slingbox when the beta or release candidate version Internet Explorer 8 is installed.
Note that we support the finalized, release version of Internet Explorer 8.
Beta or release candidate versions of Windows 7SlingPlayer 2.0.x and 1.5.x have not been completely tested with the beta or release candidate versions of Windows 7, so you might also see unexpected behavior. We recommend keeping this in mind if you’re planning on using these SlingPlayer versions with this product.
We support the finalized, release version of Windows 7.
We recommend that you do not use the
beta or
release candidate version of Internet Explorer 8 or Windows 7 with SlingPlayer at this time. If you need help in removing the
beta or
release candidate version of Internet Explorer 8, see the article referenced below on the Microsoft site.
