Our clients are some of the world's largest companies in the set-top box market, service operators, consumer electronics and IP connected devices. They enjoy a market leadership position in digital TV technology, including satellite receivers; cable Set Top boxes, and IPTV Set Top boxes serving the needs of cable, satellite and telephone companies who want to offer digital video entertainment. This is a customer facing position and extensive travel will be required.
Responsibilities
- Provide technical support for Client's customers dealing with complex digital broadcast systems this includes answering technical Q&A, co-debug with customers, having a detailed knowledge of Client's complete product line and testing hardware & software for customer release and integration
- Assist sales representatives with technical information in sales activities
- Perform tests and filtering problem reports from customers and divide issues based on severity and complexity of the problem. Collect as much as possibility information about the nature of the problem, and find out how to reproduce it in laboratory environment. Based on collected information try to fix customer problems, and if not possible to do it independently, pass issue with all collected information to Client's IPTV Business Unit Engineering Team.
- Customize and integrate company products to meet demands of America's customers
- Provide demos and benchmarking for customers and tradeshows
- Provide training on products to customers, partners, marketing and sales
- Candidate will be expected to learn and understand strategic customer requirements, and promote effective systems solutions. Independently determine optimal methods for solving complex problems and conduct extensive research to develop solutions. This often requires working with the customer to modify existing designs and to develop solutions including low level software drivers and application code.
Experience / skills
- +5 years as a technical support or field application engineer.
- Experience in MPEG, H.264, overall knowledge about digital media compression formats CCNA or equivalent experience, with emphases on IP video streaming
- Set-top box architecture, testing environments, IP infrastructure, streaming
- Knowledge of TV Standards: PAL, NTSC, ATSC, HDMI, HDCP, SCTE, EIA, ANSI, IEEE
- Knowledge of C / C++ programming language
- Knowledge of Java Script and HTML application programming
- Knowledge about IPTV protocols and overall knowledge about network protocols
- Knowledge of embedded OS and Linux programming. Understanding of STB architecture and required functionality
- Previous experience working in an operator environment a plus

- BSEE/CS+ 5 yrs experience
