Job Title: Flash Developer, Embedded Software
Location: North America - Foster City, CA
Department: Engineering Group
Reports To: Director, Embedded Software
This position is responsible for the design and development of cross-platform media playback technology based on Adobe Flash platform.
- Design and develop cross-platform media discovery, playback and control software for Sling Media products that address the requirements of Digital Home
- Develop video players for mobile, digital home and desktop platforms
- Integrate Flash-based UI with proprietary embedded software
- Design and develop web-based technologies for media sharing and control
- Participate in review meetings to discuss PRD requirements and translate them into Product Engineering Specifications.
- Work with the Product Marketing team to design and implement user interfaces, interaction models and experiences
- Work with the QA group to track open issues, and close them on priority basis.
- Report periodically regarding project progress, issues, etc. on a regular basis. Highlight new technologies, trends and opportunities and integrate into plans accordingly.
- Ensure a sustained, high level of communications with users in all functional areas of the company to ensure that plans are constantly aligned with changing business needs.
- Minimum 5-6 years experience in Flash coding (scripting)
- Experience with ActionScript2 and ActionScript3
- Experience with Flash-based video player development
- Strong programming skills, structured and documented analysis, design and coding
- Experience with web technologies, HTML, Javascript
- Experience with Flash Lite and Flash development for mobile and/or embedded devices is a big plus
- Experience in user interface design in the digital media space is a big plus
- Flash design experience is plus
- Excellent communication and people skills.
- Ability to operate in dynamic, fast-paced environment with minimal supervision
- Must demonstrate a hands on approach
