IT Project Manager

Primary Responsibilities

• Work team leads in Technology, Design and Management to create project plans and scope documentation
• Manage multiple project schedules and align goals of inter-disciplinary team to meet project milestones on a day-to-day basis.
• Working with team leaders in Technology and Design to identify critical milestones and ensure the timely delivery with accurate time estimates in schedule.
• Monitor work progress daily using MS Project and updating project plans to flag any time, resource or cost issues.
• Contribute to the planning and scoping of future phase projects and initiatives.
• Collaborate with team managers on efficient use of resources assigned to projects.
• Work with development teams to assess technical requirements from other departments as a product matures.
• Identify and manage issues as they arise, escalating as necessary
• Update the team on approved dates around key milestones with project status, updates to wire frames or design deliverables, and meeting notes.
• Understand the project and client goals by assessing requirements , success metrics, milestones and deliverables
• Balance between making small assumptions and knowing when to ask questions to fully understand the requirements of any task or communication.
• Generate weekly reports of status on each project initiative

Education/Experience/Certification Requirements

• Bachelor degree in Computer Science
• Minimum 4+ years of Project management experience

• Precise organizational and project management skills
• Strong knowledge of design technologies
• Strong knowledge of programming technologies.
• Excellent team and client management skills
• Solid history of successfully developing projects from start to finish
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to lead teams in deadline situations
• Strong computer skills including MS Project or Open Source task management systems
• Ability to judge when issues need to be escalated to Senior Management
• Experience trafficking interactive projects with a media focus, from large-scale web sites to intricate multi-platform executions.
• A positive and collaborative attitude to thrive in interdisciplinary team environment
• Excellent written and oral communications kills
• Ability to budget and schedule.
• Ability to manage time well; not get caught on the details of one task that other tasks suffer
• Ability to manage multiple projects under tight deadlines and complex requirements.
• Experience with open source CMS Systems or extending such systems to monitor project progress would be a major bonus
