EchoStar's SlingLoaded 922 HD DVR selected as one of the best new products at CES 2009.

Sling Media announces their iPhone application.

Dave Mathews got his hands all over the Echostar VIP, a media slinging device from the same folks who brought you the original Sling Box. The 922 has a Terabyte drive, DVR, and 300 channels with 30 in HD.

The iPhone version offers similar controls to SlingPlayer Mobile for BlackBerry, including its novel ribbon interface. But the new iPhone app takes advantage of that handset's touch screen and larger display.

Sling Media revealed that HD streaming will be coming to Mac users via Sling.com, and they plan to submit the Sling iPhone app for approval in Q1 of this year.

Like SlingPlayer Mobile for Windows Mobile, Palm, Symbian, UIQ, and BlackBerry (beta) platforms, this iPhone version will let you access one or more Slingboxes from your mobile device, and watch your TV stations on-the-go.

Sling Media announced late Monday that it will release an iPhone client app for its Slingbox line of place-shifting video players by the end of March, as well as offering support for high-definition video streaming for Mac users for the very first time.
